Booking Info


Booking Scoot the first time takes just a few minutes.

We need a little info to make your booking run smoothly, including:


Your name, address, a contact number and car details.

In future, our caller ID system pops up all your details.
Just tell us where you parked and when you want to go home.


Booking Tips


  • Call Scoot on 0131 656 6666 from 5pm, 7 days a week.

  • If you want picked up before 5pm you need to book in advance, at least the night before.

  • You are best to call before 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and before 2am Friday and Saturday.

  • You are best to give at least 1 hours notice for any bookings, although we can often provide drivers’ at shorter notice.

  • At weekends you are best to call up to 3 hours in advance for our peak times.

  • Why not book further in advance for any forthcoming events.

Scoot membership starts from as little as £25 per year.


Personal Membership allows you and a partner to enjoy all the benefits including discounts and priority booking.


Corporate Membership is also available. Corporate members are invoiced monthly.

Membership Benefits

  • Priority booking. Non members can only book within 3 hours of the pick up they want giving you the option to call early and secure the slot you want

  • If you pre book by more than 3hours and we cannot get you a driver within 1 hour of the time you want, Scoot GUARANTEE to take your car home for FREE.

  • Key Collection Service. Scoot will collect your keys from your venue and bring your car to the front door. £2.50

  • Job opportunities

Scoot provides chauffeurs (rider-drivers) to drive clients home in their own car. As a self-employed driver you will get to your clients on a 50cc folding moped (monkey bike) and then drive home in their car (with the moped sealed in the boot).

We are currently looking for new crew members to join our team of chauffeurs, who are careful, experienced drivers with a good/reasonable knowledge of Edinburgh. They need to be motivated, reliable, friendly and looking for self-employed flexible short hours work and especially on weekend evenings. This work is perfect if you like cars and bikes, working outdoors, are sociable and like doing something different. You must be 25+, have a full car driving licence valid in the UK, be an experienced car driver with some bike experience. Typically, our chauffeurs are freelancers (electricians, temps, self/employed, musicians). They enjoy outdoor work, driving a wide range of cars and meeting lots of different people. A typical night at Scoot involves starting work at 9-10pm and finishing at 2-3am, you can earn around £30-£40 per night, with additional excellent tip opportunities.

  • Bookings

Answer machine messages dealt with within 1 hour of office opening (5pm).

Online bookings processed & confirmed within 1 hour of receipt during office opening hours. Scoot will call to confirm your booking by telephone.



  • Payment

Personal Members can pay at point of booking over the telephone by credit or debit card. Alternatively, clients can pay cash or cheque (with guarantee card) directly to the driver at the end of the journey.

Corporate members will be invoiced monthly; late payments will be subject to a £5 administration fee.

All prices are subject to change.



  • Amendments

Any amendments required to time or journey must be requested in advance by contacting the Scoot office, not through the Scoot drivers.

Amendments to bookings must be made at least 45 minutes before commencement of journey. Any amendments requested within 45 minutes of booking are arranged at Scoots discretion.

Amendments to journey, including drop offs en-route, will be re-priced & charged accordingly.



  • Booking Reminder

Scoot will try to remind clients of their booking approximately 5 minutes prior to the commencement of their journey by giving 2 rings to a mobile or landline telephone number. The onus is on the client to be at the car for the time booked.



  • Waiting Time Charge

The first 5 minutes following time booked are free of charge. Any subsequent waiting time will be charged at 50p per minute.

This charge will also be applied if asked to stop off en-route. There is no free waiting time during a stop off. Waiting times are at Scoots discretion. Delay to your booking may result in other bookings being affected.

Scoot will wait a maximum of 15 minutes during busy periods. The full fare will be charged for non-appearance. The waiting time charge will not be applied in this instance.



  • Vehicles

Scoot drivers are insured to drive any vehicle up to an insured value of £76,000. Clients with cars valued over £76,000 book Scoot at their own risk.

Clients with cars that have particularly small boots should check with Scoot in the first instance to ensure the scooter can be accommodated.

Clients who wish to have the scooter placed on the back seat of their car do so at their own risk.

Scoot cannot carry more passengers than the vehicle is designed to carry. Please leave room for the driver.



  • Cancellations

Clients who wish to cancel their booking should do so 1 hour prior to commencement of journey.

Journeys cancelled within 1 hour of booking will be charged the minimum fare of £10.

Journeys cancelled within 30 minutes hour of booking will be charged the full fare.

Scoot reserves the right to cancel any journey, for any reason, at any time.
