About Us

Scoot is a friendly family run business based in Leith in Edinburgh. We have been operating throughout Edinburgh, The Lothians and Fife for over 8 years.

Michael Anderson, Ranjit Anderson & Surbjit Dhillon set up Scoot as an alternative to leaving the car and getting a taxi home, or worse, drinking and driving.

We pride ourselves on providing the ultimate customer experience from booking the service with our friendly operator’s to arriving home safely in the care of our expert drivers.

To ensure you get home safely, Scoot drivers are:

  • Fully insured for any car on the Scoot policy.
  • Over 25 years old, with 5 years driving experience.
  • Holders of clean licenses and no accidents.
  • Thoroughly vetted and tested for your safety.

Always looking to adapt to the needs of our customers Scoot now provide a range of services to help take care of all your driving needs; everything from picking you up at the airport, to providing chauffeurs.

Scoot campaigns against drinking and driving and supports a number of organisations in a bid to help drive this message home including Think! and Drinkaware. Subby & Mike have also raised money for Brake, running in 10k events.

At Scoot, we go the extra mile for you!

Directors

Mike looks after Scoot's business development, as well as the finance, IT and administration. When not working he enjoys anything to do with sport, especially when it involves sitting down and watching it while enjoying a drink with friends.

Ranjit is Scoots Marketing Director, developing all aspects of Scoots marketing, social media and business networks. If you want to get involved with the Scoot Community, speak to Ranjit.
When she's not spreading the word, Ranjit enjoys good food, fine wine and great company.

Scoot Drivers

John has been with Scoot for over 3yrs and has been known to strip wires with his bare teeth to get the job done.
He has been known to enjoy driving his scooter with a pair of birds hanging round his neck! In his spare time he likes playing toy soldiers, I mean airsoft (sorry John).

Jonathan has been with Scoot for almost 3 years. Jonathan is a really ameniable character and gets on well with all our customers. He has certainly made an impact during his time here. When he's not working Jonathan likes larking around and playing practical jokes.

JP has been with Scoot for 6 months. He loves meeting customers and is always thinking of ways to promote Scoot to our customers. Away from work he loves fine dining.

Alex has been with Scoot for over 3 years and just does not stop working. If he is not out on a job, he can always be found in the workshop making sure his bike runs perfectly. He has worked through all conditions, even freezing his mitts off last winter in temps as low as -15c. In his free time he is a keen trampolinist.

Robbi has been with Scoot for over 6 months and has already built up a real rapport with our customers. He loves a bit of banter when driving Scoot customers home.
When not working Robbi enjoys cycling and nights out with friends

Brett has been with Scoot for 6 months and has proved himself to be a very capable driver. His knowledge of all things mechanical is also proving indispensable. Away from Scoot Brett can generally be found...you guessed it...playing around on motorbikes!

  • Job opportunities

Scoot provides chauffeurs (rider-drivers) to drive clients home in their own car. As a self-employed driver you will get to your clients on a 50cc folding moped (monkey bike) and then drive home in their car (with the moped sealed in the boot).

We are currently looking for new crew members to join our team of chauffeurs, who are careful, experienced drivers with a good/reasonable knowledge of Edinburgh. They need to be motivated, reliable, friendly and looking for self-employed flexible short hours work and especially on weekend evenings. This work is perfect if you like cars and bikes, working outdoors, are sociable and like doing something different. You must be 25+, have a full car driving licence valid in the UK, be an experienced car driver with some bike experience. Typically, our chauffeurs are freelancers (electricians, temps, self/employed, musicians). They enjoy outdoor work, driving a wide range of cars and meeting lots of different people. A typical night at Scoot involves starting work at 9-10pm and finishing at 2-3am, you can earn around £30-£40 per night, with additional excellent tip opportunities.

To apply, please call Ranjit on 0131 656 6666, please leave a message before 5 pm and we will get back to you or phone after 5pm to speak to someone.
